Nach Baliye 5 was totally worth the wait. This season includes the best collection of celebrity pairs, judges and hosts and by best we mean, fun, insanely popular, less controversial (minus Rahul Mahajan), and TV addict’s favorites. The premiere episode was the best way to kick off the most awaited small screen celebrity dance show with entertaining performances.

 The premiere of Nach Baliye season 5, was infused with laughter and just a hint of cheesy montages (phew). From the celebrity contestants to the judges and the hosts everyone was a delight to watch. The entire casting of the show fits perfectly and they complement each other and delivering entertainment that screams awesomeness.

Sajid Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Terence have been perfect judges in the past and were absolutely impressive in the show. With none of the attitude and a whole lot of madness, this judging panel will be a treat to watch this season.

Some of the wonderful performances of the night included, Jai and Mahi, Khushal and Elena, and, Arvind and Neelu. Rahul Mahajan was a laughter riot, and you know he’s just here to entertain, but not like anyone’s complaining. Would have expected a little more out of Smita and Ankush, but then of course the show’s only just started.

Hosts, Karan Wahi and Gautam were marvelous on stage. But Karan was the real star of the show. Not only did he look comfortable and confident but had an amazing screen presence.

It was a pleasant surprise to witness Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh introduce Neelu. Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma’s act was short but hilarious.

Verdict: If you dig small screen entertainment, you can’t miss Nach Baliye Season 5! Screaming Critics grades Nach Baliye an ‘A’ and gives it ****1/2 stars.

Nach Baliye Season 5 Highlights:

The show began with the hosts Karan Wahi and Gautam dancing to Hum to Hai Cappuccino and Desi Boyz. A good performance by the duo. Shilpa Shetty joined Karan and Gautam dacing on her original song ‘UP Bihar Lutney’. After a comic introduction, we were introduced to the 11 celebrity pairs via a video footage, followed by a quick introduction to judges Sajid Khan and dance maestro Terence, who grooved to the hit tracks from Jitendra and Anil Kapoor movies.

Next we were reintroduced to the couples, starting with Jai-Mahi. Here’s a rundown of the celebrities in order of appearance.

1. Jai-Mahi: A ten on ten performance on the song Radha from SOTY
2. Shefali-Parag: Decent performance by the duo on Oo La La from The Dirty Picture
3. Rahul-Dimpy: HILARIOUS is the word for their dance on songs from Son of Sardar
4. Amar-Charlie: A little disappointing
5. Arvind- Neelu: The couple was introduced by characters from Neelu’s show: Sandhya and Suraj
6. Karan-Nisha: Introduced by their wedding video montage
7. Smita-Ankush: Could have had a better song choice
8. Ravi-Sargun: Good dance, zero chemistry.
9. Deepshika-Kaishav: Above average performance followed by an emotional
10. Khushal-Elena: The duo delivered the most electrifying performance of the night.
11. Suhasi-Jaisheel: Perfectionists!
